We were delighted to host a conversation with Estate Planning Attorney Somita Basu of NortonBasu, LLP discussing a critical decision that everyone who creates a Revocable Living Trust must make: Who should be your successor trustee?

A successor trustee is the person who takes control of your trust after you have died or are no longer able to continue as trustee. Some of the questions we covered were; How should you make this important choice? What factors should you consider? And how should you prepare the person you choose to successfully carry out the wishes you have laid forth in your trust?

Somita Basu, Esq. is an attorney and co-founder at Norton Basu LLP.

Somita moved to the Bay Area in 2013 having previously lived in Nebraska, Maryland, Mumbai and Singapore. To immerse herself in her new community, Somita began volunteering with Bay Area Legal Aid and met Zakiya Norton, finding a life-long connection together they founded Norton Basu LLP.  Somita focuses on estate planning including specializing for women, conservatorships, probate and wills.
